Dear Mom + Dad,

I got your letter this morning. I would have had it last night but I went to town and missed mail call so it came to me a little late. As least I got it. This isn’t going to (be) much of a letter as I’m dead tired and second I’m sitting under a tree and trying to write. I’m getting covered with ants but you don’t mind them after while.

I’m tired as for last three nights I’ve been in town. It just about has me down today. I’m not used to those late hours and I can’t take it like I used to. I’m going to get some sleep as I’m supposed to go on duty at the operating room at 4 P.M. There isn’t anything to do and while there I get to sleep on a cot. So I’m figuring on a good rest tonight.

As I told you yesterday I heard from Russ and yesterday I wrote him a long letter as I know how he will need it.

I think we are going to move out of here Monday to another spot in the desert. I don’t particularly as I’ve become so accustomed to the inconveniences that it just doesn’t bother me anymore.

I’m sorry I’m going to quit. I’m not in the mood to write. I might try again tonight so hang on until later.

Love
Bob
